UJCWA Field Employees Assist With Tree Shearer Fire

On the morning of June 30, 2016, Field Supervisor Rodger Morgan noticed smoke coming from a tree shearer that was parked off of Hwy 63 West, across from County Road 080 near the office of Upper Jasper County Water Authority.  Rodger Morgan stopped to see if he could be of any assistance. Field Operator Jonathan Williams also stopped to assist.

Rodger Morgan went to the Precinct 1 County Barn and borrowed a fire extinguisher.  The use of the fire extinguisher and a cooler of melted ice helped contain the fire until the ARVFD could be notified.  The combined efforts prevented a total loss of the equipment.
